Battleship light or heavy? by captainIronstar
Battleship light or heavy?
When I first made this, I meant to design it as a light battleship, but now it looks like it's more on the line of a heavy battleship. Additional batteries will be added in the future, maybe some additional hanger bays to launch fighters, missile launchers of different sizes for short range defensive missiles to long range bombardment missiles. Some batteries on the bridge (or the ridge leading to the bridge) and better detailing on the side view.

Xixtis APCs by captainIronstar
Xixtis APCs
A redesigned Zi'k using the new suspension design of the latest light tanks and the turret moved forward with additional rifle ports built into the hull. Thanks to the redesign the new design is taller, but it's not much taller than before.

Even more Dreadful than before by captainIronstar
Even more Dreadful than before
Basically a MK2 version of the Dreadful light tank I made some time ago. Redesigned turret to smaller and with better angles for shell deflection. New hull/suspension design to lower both the hull and the over all silhouette. I have replaced the barrel with a new design to make it look more compact but also longer, so that way it's like the firefly and the IShermans.

Stillwind light tank by captainIronstar
Stillwind light tank
So I got bored earlier and started to work on a Stillwind light tank. At first I wanted to make it like early Cold War era French light tanks like the AMX-12t and the AMX-13 both as the basic layout and design specs. With the top version using the suspension as the French prototype AMX-12t and the bottom version uses part of new suspension layout I was planing for the Fa'ot which has a similar layout as the Centurion Horstmann suspension. I might change the numbers of return rollers on the horstmann suspension. But with how small the hull with the horstmann suspension is, that I might have to make it like the MBT-70 prototype with the driver set in the middle with the turret and crew. The turret is designed after the Leopard 2's later production turret.

Xixtis Vir'tan class light tank by captainIronstar
Xixtis Vir'tan class light tank
The Vir'tan is a Light Tracked Sniper Tank designed after the Dravon class Light Tracked Tank, the Vir'tan is armed with a long barrel 120mm Railgun able to launch harden slugs and anti-tank/air missiles at much farther ranges than the shorter barreled 90mm Railgun used on the Dravon class. Most Vir'tans are armed with two to three MGs for infantry defense, one mounted in a coaxial machine, one mounted on the commander's cupola and the third one was placed a gunner's hatch which some models of the Vir'tan did not have. The armor on the Vir'tan is just about as thick as the Dravon which were built with Nano-Titanium Grade C at thickest is 50mm, powered by a small nuclear fusion able to push this light tank up to speeds of 34 km/h off-road and 78 km/h on road which still being able to fire its railgun at full power. Mainly used to pick off armor of most classes at 'stand-off' ranges, the targeting computer is fast enough with the turret/crew to accurately destroy fast vehicles while still being powerful enough to pierce side and rear armor found on heavy tanks. While the track system of the Vir'tan class is similar to that of the Dravon class which uses specialized suspension system that acts similar to the Christie Suspension, while the Vir'tan is slower than most other light tanks, thanks to its main weapon.

Designed after the Dutch CV9135 NL and the track/wheels are basically that of RJL28's track and wheel designs on Juriorgeneral.com
Update: I have made the same changes to the Virt'tan as the dravon light tank, but I made the barrel longer.

The Christie Suspension system was originally designed by a Walter Christie, a racing enthusiast and mechanic in the 1920s-30s as a superior cross country suspension system to that of the Leaf-Spring suspension that many tanks have used before hand with a longer springs which would absorb more shock in cross country movement and the tracks could be removed and be driven on modern city grade streets on its wheels. The main down falls of the Christie Suspension is that it was larger suspension system and heavier than the Leaf-Spring, but also that the tank itself could not really support the weight of medium tanks and heavy tanks, the U.S. Army never used Christie's suspension in any of their tanks, even though Christie did build a few prototypes for the U.S. Army. Other countries have used Christie's suspension system some models of the Panzer Is and IIs used the Christie Suspension but were replaced by the Leaf-Spring suspension, the British used a modified Christie Suspension in their Crusader Cruiser tanks and in the Cromwell Cruiser tank, but the most successful use of the Christie Suspension system was used by the Russians in their BT series of tanks and in the T-34 and T-34/85 Medium Tanks. There are other tanks/countries that have used the Christie Suspension, but the tanks I have named are some of the most successful models in the history of tanks.

Life can be tough, especially when a judge says you're dead in the eyes of the law.

That's exactly what happened to Ohio resident Donald Eugene Miller Jr. on Monday when a judge upheld a 1994 court ruling declaring the 61-year-old legally dead.

The Courier reports that 19 years ago, a court in Hancock County declared Miller legally dead eight years after he disappeared from his rental home.

As a result, Miller has lost his Social Security number and his driver's license.

Judge Allan Davis called it a "strange, strange situation," but he also said the court cannot budge in its decision.

"We've got the obvious here," Davis said. "A man sitting in the courtroom, he appears to be in good health."

Each state can make its own laws regarding declaring someone legally dead. Most generally rely on a similar set of criteria: that someone is missing and presumed dead if they can't be located for at least seven years, the absence has been continuous and a genuine effort has been made to locate the person.

Miller said he is a recovering alcoholic and abandoned his rental home while in the throes of his addiction. He said he returned to the court as part of an effort to get his life back together.

"It kind of went further than I ever expected it to," Miller told the court. "I just kind of took off, ended up in different places."

Technically, Miller can petition to have his Social Security number reinstated in federal court, but his attorney, Francis Marley, told the Courier that Miller does not have the financial resources to pursue a second hearing.

"My client's here on a wing and a prayer today," Marley said.

His ex-wife, Robin Miller, asked for the initial death ruling so that Social Security death benefits could be paid to their two children. She reportedly declined to testify in court on Monday.

"I don't know where that leaves you, but you're still deceased as far as the law is concerned," Davis said.

Robin Miller says she opposed overturning the death ruling, because she would then have to pay back the federal government for the benefits she received and does not have the financial means to do so. Donald Eugene Miller reportedly owed her $26,000 in child support at the time of his "death."

Despite Miller's efforts to come clean with the court, Davis said there is a three-year legal limit for reversing a death ruling.

However, Miller said he wasn't even aware of his legal "death" until his parents told him about it when he finally returned to Ohio in 2005.
